What is aba therapy?

ABA Therapy is a science-based approach to understanding behavior. ABA is a set of principles that focus on how behavior changes in its environment and can be applied to help individuals learn and maintain skills (e.g., social, language, play and self-help skills) while decreasing maladaptive behaviors (e.g., self-injury, aggression, self-stimulatory).

NESS Behavior Consulting can help

When maladaptive behaviors interfere with an individual's ability to learn and maintain necessary skills for the overall betterment of their health and social life. Our professionals are Board Certified Behavior Analysis (BCBA), Licensed Behavior Analysis (LBA), and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT).

Parent Training

Parent training is often paired with our ABA therapy, to help you effectively maintain your child's new skills and behaviors.

Court Order?

NESS also offers a unique Parent Training for parents who have a court order for parent training services, diagnosis not required.

meet the founder

My name is Desirie Sykes and I’m the Founder and President of NESS Behavior Consulting. As a former Behavior Specialist with OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) and contracted in-school Behavior Consultant , I use my knowledge and expertise to increase the capacity of school professionals to meet students’ needs with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) and/or 504 Plan to retain students in their school district in lieu of alternative school settings.

Our mission at NESS is to encourage an inclusive learning environment for students with developmental disabilities and provide parents, families and school professionals with tools and resources to meet special needs through the application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and psychology.
